I Have Not Quit Politics - Kemeseng Jammeh

Friday, June 15, 2007

Barely seven months after suffering defeat in the hands of the APRC candidate for Jarra West constituency in the January 25 legislative elections, Kemeseng Jammeh, a veteran politician in both the former PPP and now APRC administration, has said that he would never quit politics, adding that he does not even conceive of such an eventuality.

Speaking to The Point yesterday, the first time after his defeat, Nelson Mandela, as Kemeseng is fondly called within the ranks of UDP, said: "I am still a politician who is committed to the UDP." Mr. Jammeh also told this paper that he was not surprised by his defeat as politics could be unpredictable at times. "I was not surprised because this is politics and you cannot predict its outcome," he finally told the Point.
