New Niani Chief sworn in![]() Sunday, June 17, 2007 Alhagie Mulai Janneh, the Governor for the Central River Region last Saturday 9th June, presided over the swearing in and flag raising ceremony of the new Chief of Niani Pierre Bah, at his village Jammagen. Pierre Bah received his acknowledgement letter as the Chief of Niani in May 2007. Seyfo Bah’s appointment came following the demise of the former Chief, Alhagie Malick Ndow, who served as the head chief for seven years. In his speech, Governor Janneh called the people of Niani to support the new Chief in his duties. He called on the Chief to serve the people of Niani efficiently and effectively without fear or favour. He advised them to maintain their loyalty to President Jammeh and the APRC party. The Governor for LRR Momodou Soma Jobe who administered the Oath of Office and secrecy for the Chief advised him to have mercy on the people of Niani and work diligently in the interest of the community. Bakary Jam Jawo, Chief of Janjangbureh called on the people of Niani to rally behind President Jammeh and the APRC party. He advised them to maintain their unity and cooperation for the development of the area.
