Police warns unscrupulous mechanic garage owners, others

The unscrupulous mechanics and garage owners engaged in panel beating of vehicles involved in accidents and escaped unnoticed; and health personnel both in the public and private sector attending to any patients with physical injuries without clearance from the police are warned, a press release from the Office of the Inspector-General of Police stated.

The release reads: “It has come to the notice of the Office of the Inspector General of Police that some unscrupulous mechanics and garage owners are engaged in panel beating of vehicles involved in accidents and escaped unnoticed.

Equally, health personnel both in the public and private sector are hereby warned not to attend to any patient with physical injuries without clearance from the Police.
Health personnel are therefore advised to consult the nearest police station or seek police clearance before attending to any patient with physical injuries.

As a result, the Office of the Inspector-General of Police hereby warned all mechanic and health personnel, both in the public and private sector to desist from the acts, otherwise perpetrators will be dealt with according to the full force of the law. The general public is hereby urged to be vigilant and report any of such acts to the nearest police station,” the release concluded.
