Jammeh wins UK award

President Yahya Jammeh recently won a special merit award in the UK for his contribution to the development of The Gambia and good leadership by the Uk-based SeneGambia Impresario Firm at a ceremony held at Troxy in the UK.

According to reports, the SeneGambia Community Awards was created and hosted by Waka J Promotion, a premier SeneGambian promotion outfit in the UK. The Gambian leader’s award was received by Lang Yarbor, acting Gambia High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, on behalf of President Jammeh. Fifteen different awards were given out on the night.

The SeneGambia UK Community Awards is an annual gratitute ceremony to recognise the worthy impacts in various endeavours and business ventures, of Senegalese and Gambians residing in the United Kingdom. The award also rewards the contribution of individual and ambassadors who sell positive images of the SeneGambian region to the wider world.

Other receipients were - Youssou Ndour who received the Special Achievement Award; Jamil Trawally, Lawyer of the Year; Gambia United Society, Community Award; Jaliba Kuyateh, Gambian Artist of the Year; Seyfo Sole, Senegambian Footballer of the Year; Jalex, Best New Artist; Mbaye Dieay Faye, Male Artist of the Year; Ami Colle, Female Artist of the Year; Saneex, Actor of the Year (Theatre); Lady Chilel Sarr, Beauty of the Year and Yatou Jack, Designer of the Year.

The event gathered a tremendous number of people drawn from all categories of life.
