Any lingering doubt about the scorpions’ comfort in Guinea has been put to rest by the host. In the traditional GFA fashion, an advance team has been sent to make way for the national team as they get ready for the crucial group 8 African Nations’ Cup qualifying fixture.
GFA protocol chairman Mbye Gaye, who led the advance team expressed satisfaction over Guinea’s readiness to receive the Gambia as they have already identified a Hotel which the team will reside during their stay from June the 2nd. “It is a suitable hotel (Les Hotel Mariador Palace) found in the heart of Conakry. I have inspected all the rooms to see that everything is in order and more over that is where I am staying”. The hotel located beside a beach has cool swimming facilities and a sizable tennis court with a good breathing space for strolling.
Gaye, who arrived since last Wednesday further explained that Guinea plans to return the warm reception given them by the GFA protocol committee as the buses that will be used by the Gambian party has already been identified.
