In what appears to be a furious mood yesterday afternoon, the leader of the United Democratic Party, Mr. Ousainou Darboe, who also led the coalition of political parties that contested in the last presidential polls, described Mr. Lamin Waa Juwara as an irrelevant person who is not worthy of his attention, much less his response.
Mr. Darboe’s comments came on the heels of an interview Mr. Juwara granted this paper some time last week, in which he called on lawyer Darboe to relinquish the leadership of his party after having tried and failed on three occasions to carry his party to victory.
“What he said is so irrelevant that I don’t think I should waste my time replying to him,” he said, adding that the unenviable political history of Waa Juwara is known to everybody.
Lawyer Darboe concluded by making reference to the labours and perseverance of President Abdoulie Wade of Senegal who, he said, had tried on many occasions before being finally elected into office.
