Assan Jatta, commonly known as Bierhoff was on target for his Belgian club SK Lierse on Wednesday, as they thrash Van Malmundaria 4-0 in their second match in the just commenced Belgian Second Division league season.

Jatta, netted two goals to earn his side their maiden win after their 2-2 draw with Virton in the first match.

SK Lierse got relegated last season from the Belgian First Division after a very poor run and an ankle injury forced the 24-year-old former Steve Biko striker to watch most of the league matches from the sideline.

However, as they kick-start their campaign in the Division Two league, SK Lierse have sent a positive sign of gaining promotion to where they belong to having already gathered four points in two matches.

Both Assan Jatta and his team mate Mustapha Jarju (Toubabo) have one year left on their Lierse contracts. And as Assan endured most of last season with injury, it was a different story for Mustapha Jarju who scores seven league goals in 36 appearances.  The versatile midfielder completed the season as Lierse’s top scorer before being voted as the second Best Player of the 2006-07 Belgian league season.
