Mr. Sampon J. Kablan, FIFA development officer for West Africa, based in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, would arrive in Banjul on Wednesday August 22 for a weeklong official visit as guest of The Gambia Football Association.
According to a press release from GFA, whilst in Banjul, Mr. Kablan would visit the FIFA Goal Project in Yundum and the proposed artificial turf site in Brikama as well as to preside over the official handing over of keys of the FIFA funded GFA Administrative Building in Kanifing South.
“Considering the million dollar contributions of FIFA towards the promotion and development of Gambian Football, we are calling on Gambians to come out to witness the official handing over of the new GFA administrative building in Kanifing on Friday August 24th, 2007 at 17.00 hours,” the release pointed out.
Mr. Kablan would arrive in Banjul on Wednesday 22 August 2007 at 17.50pm and would be lodged at the Ocean Bay Hotel.
At 20.00 hours, Mr. Kablan would hold meeting with GFA President, Seedy MB Kinteh.
On Thursday August 23, Mr. Kablan would meet GFA Officials at the Independence Stadium in Bakau at 11.00am.
At 14.00 hours Secretary of State for Youth, Sports and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Omar Faye, would receive Mr. Kablan in his office in Banjul.
The FIFA Goal Project in Yundum and the Artificial Turf site in Brikama would be visited by Sampon Kablan on Friday August 24 at 10.00am.
The most awaited moment of Mr. Kablan’s visit would occur at 17.00hours with the official handing over of the keys of the Administrative Building better known as Goal Project 2.
FIFA development officer would face the press on Saturday August 25 at 11.00am at the GFA Secretariat before leaving Banjul on Sunday August 26 at 17.00 hours.
