Sweden-based Artist Poised to Tour Gambia

Dembo Jatta alias The Root Man, a Gambian born international artist based in Sweden who is currently in the country, is set to embark on a three-week musical tour of The Gambia. The tour, which will feature prominent musical outfits namely Pepper House Crew, Sofaniama Band, Rebel Baddibu and Vex Gungee Man, is geared towards exposing local artists as well as promoting young talents.

The multi-talented artist said that the tour would take them to major towns such as Kartong, Brikama, Barra, Farafenni, Soma and Basse. He added that during the tour they would promote his forthcoming album THE ROOTS. He also posited that during his stay in the country he would perform in various hotels and entertainment spots.

He therefore urged all and sundry to ready for musical tour, which he said, will s kick off soon.

A former military police in the defunct Gendarmerie, Dembo was born in Busumbala and raised in Bakau. He plays Afro-jazz music and his music is always loaded with meaningful messages, messages of peace and uplifting.
