Please, allow me space in your respectable paper, to launch a passionate appeal to the country’s water and electricity company, NAWEC. Needless to remind them that this is the period for football lovers. The much awaited Africa Nations Cup finals are under way. In fact, in days like these, everybody is glued to their television or radio, whether they are fanatics or not.

But unfortunately, the tradition is that deprived sectors of societies are deliberately and unjustifiably denied power supply for ‘privileged’ people in other societies, to offset the extreme power need on the company in times like these. There is also reason to suspect that some unscrupulous individuals connive with established cinema owners, so that the latter could increase their customer base during popular matches.The fact remains that those of us that do not have influence over the operations of NAWEC are just as important as any other groups of people.

It is in this regard that I write, on behalf of the potential victims of crude practices like these, to the top management of NAWEC, to take note of this, and possibly, to ensure that no such thing is allowed to happen.
