Ahead of the yearly renewal of vehicle licences for both commercial and private vehicles throughout the country, the Inspector General of Police last Thursday re-emphasised the authorities’ determination to enforce the time limit for the plying of the roads by trucks, while outlining the process for the renewal and procurement of vehicle licences. The following is an unedited version of the press release.
The Inspector General of Police is hereby informing all vehicle owners that the Police will start issuing Vehicle License for (both Private and Commercial) Country Wide with effect from Monday the 21st January 2008.
All vehicle owners are hereby informed that vehicles must be tested by a Testing and Certifying Officer before a Vehicles License can be issued to anyone, and this involves both Private as well as Commercial Vehicles.
In the same vain, effect from today the 17th January 2008 no Truck will be allowed to travel after 19:00 hrs (7:00 pm).
