Wednesday, January 30, 2008
The National Patriotic Students’ Association (NAPSA) on Monday, January 14 began a familiarisation tour to various Junior and Senior Seondary schools in Western Region (WR) and Lower River Region (LRR) to discuss with students issues surrounding their protection, hardwork and unity amongst themselves.

Speaking to Top Class, Jaliba Ansu Jobarteh, Public Relations Officer of NAPSA said that they are on tour to talk to the students about their protection, to advise them to double up their efforts as well as ensuring unity among themselves. He noted that there cannot be any development without hardwork. “The Gambia belong to us, the youth, we most be ready to take and face the challenges as well as to learn”, he said.

According to Mr Jobarteh, through education, the youth will be able to develop themselves, noting that government have created the enabling environment for them in this country. Parents, he added, have equally provided the necessary learning materials for their children. So he advised them not to let the parents down.

He further advised the students to respect their teachers in order for them to gain what they are looking for. “There cannot be quality education without student discipline. Respect your teachers and abide by the rules and regulations governing your various schools” he advised.

For Mr Jobarteh, respect goes with responsibility. He called on the students to discharge their duties as expected and dress decently to show that they are responsible in order to create better ground for the future.
