DJ Lamin Cham Honoured

Named Promoter of the Year The Point Entertainment Desk has named DJ Lamin Cham, the CEO of Champion Sounds the Music Promoter of the year 2007. The prestigious accolade is being conferred on him in recognition of his sterling contribution to the promotion and development of Gambia’s burgeoning music industry. DJ Lamin Cham is a star of no mean repute; he is a maverick, a genius and a towering legend who has already made his mark in the entertainment world. For the past one and half decades the Sukuta born music impresario has been on the boil, making headlines in the showbiz industry, earning him both fame and satisfaction. Thanks to his instrumentality and dynamism, DJ Cham has succeeded in organizing major music and cultural festivals both in the country and abroad. DJ Lamin Cham is the third distinguished Gambian personality to have this bestowed on him by The Point Entertainment Desk. The others who have received this auspicious award area Alhaji Bai Camara, a former member of staff at GRTS and Ousman Ceesay the founder and managing director of Kerewan Sounds. In his acceptance speech, DJ Lamin Cham who is also the President Jammeh award-winning DJ gave kudos to The Point for honouring him and remarked that the award really humbled him. “ It is heart-warming for me to note that some discerning minds are indeed tracking my performance and as far as I’m concerned I’m definitely on course as a music promoter.
