The US Embassy in Banjul - in collaboration with US AID, the West Africa trade Hub (WATH) and The Gambia Government - on Saturday, concluded a two-day training seminar on the US Government Agriculture Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) at the Corinthian Atlantic Hotel in Banjul.
The two-day training aims to enhance the capacity of key beneficiaries of the AGOA programme in order to ensure efficient and optional utilization of the business outfits especially those involved in the textile business to export textile products to the United States under the framework of the AGOA programme.
During the course of the training, participants were exposed to The Gambia’s export opportunities under AGOA; ranging from an overview of the AGOA acts and amendments, eligibility criteria for textile and non-textile goods, GPS, AGOA eligibility and commercial opportunities for textile products.
