Nasir Ahmadiyya Muslim Senior Secondary School in Basse, Upper River Region, on Friday October 31, commemorated its twenty-five years of existence.
Established in October 1983 by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in The Gambia, Nasir Ahmadiyya Senior Secondary School is the first and the oldest high school in the Upper River Region (URR).
In his statement, the principal of the school, Mamadi Ceesay, gave a brief history of the school. He revealed that the school started with 83 students, of which 8 were girls.
He noted that the institution which gave birth to this blessed and beneficial scheme of Nusrat Jehan is Khalifat Ahmadiyya which is 100 years this year.
“Therefore, the silver jubilee celebration of Nasir is indeed part of the commemoration of the centenary Kahalifat jubilee celebration because it is the institution of Khalifat which gave birth to the scheme under which Nasir was established,” he remarked.
