Among the Taiwan ICDF’s multiple functions, International human resource development has always been one of its concentrations. Human resource development programs play a vital role in assisting friendly countries achieve sustainable development. To this end Taiwan ICDF is offering scholarships for masters degrees and doctorate degrees for two and three years respectively, to Gambian students to undergo further studies at various colleges and universities in Taiwan. The fields of study include, Foreign Agriculture, Business Administration, International Workforce Education and Development program, International Health, Environmental Sustainable Development, Marine Science and Resource management and Engineering among others.
Successful applicants will receive air tickets to Taiwan, full time tuition fee sand monthly allowances among other benefits.
Interested applicants from the civil service can collect and submit forms from the PMO while the general public can laise with the University of The Gambia. After this, the two institutions will forward the forms to the Taiwanese Embassy which will later arrange for interviews. The closing date for submission to the embassy is April 10th, 2008. Applications should include the application form, Diploma and transcripts, Health examination certificates, evidence of English proficiency and so on.
It will be recalled that last year alone Taiwan ICDF awarded 14 scholarships to Gambian students.
