Arret Dampha, a 14 year old native of Sankuley Kunda and grade seven student of Janjangbureh Junior Secondary School, is in need of financial assistance to facilitate her passage for an overseas treatment.

According to a medical report from the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital Management Board, Arret is suffering from cardiomyopathy and also experiencing swollings on her feet, abdomen and face, resulting to her inability to eat properly.

Sireng Baldeh, Arret’s mother, said that her daughter has not been able to have a proper sleep for the past months. “My daughter only sleeps leaning on a sofa with pillows placed around her. Her heart according to doctors has enlarged enormously and needs immediate operation if Arret is to stand any chance of surviving” she said.

Arret Dampha who is in need of half a million dalasis for her treatment has been crying for years of apparent pain.

In contrast, one Sophie Touray of Bundung has succumbed to her culment, at 13 years, recently after struggling for 6 years as she was suffering from cardiovascular disorder. But due to financial constraints, her condition later resulted to cardiac failure and eventually died.

The family of Arret Dampha therefore appeals to government, individuals, philanthropists and institutions to help in financing this young girl to recovery. Anyone willing to help can contact the family on 9899475 or 7202956 or 6430295.
