Murder Trial to Proceed

Thursday, March 6, 2008
The trial of Kalilou Conteh over an alleged offence of killing a pregnant woman could now open for criminal proceedings after a long phase of delay.

Kalilou’s case was mentioned sometime last year at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court but could not make any headway thanks to his failure to secure a legal representation. Now that he had secured one, his case will proceed on 11 March before Magistrate Kumba Sillah-Janneh.

Kalilou, a native of Badibbu Conteh Kunda but currently under State custody at the Remand Wing of Mile II, has been charged with the killing of one Mariama Camara with a pestle in Kombo Sukuta.
