Sea View new head coach Alagie Sarr said his primary objective as the hotel club coach is to remain in the GFA First Division and not to compete for titles. The former Wallidan and Ports Authority head coach said his players are too young and inexperience to compete for any title this season.

Sarr made these remarks shortly after Sea View’s 0-1 defeat at the hands of Sait Matty on Wednesday at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.

Yankuba Jammeh’s 78th minute brace that emanated from a spot-kick earned the Africell-sponsored side their first win of the season, having lost 0-1 to Real de Banjul in their first match.

The setback was Sea View’s second defeat in their first two fixtures and coach Sarr remains optimistic despite the shaky start.

“We have just lost our second game. For me it makes no difference because I have always lost my first league matches and later caught up with others.”

“These are young players with no experience. So we just have to push them a bit to double up.”

“My primary objective is to remain in the First Division and whatever we have on the way is OK,” said coach Sarr who is a league winner with both Wallidan and Ports Authority.

Sea View were last season relegated alongside Steve Biko. However, the Bakau duo escaped demotion - thanks to the clubs’ sympathetic decision to expand the ten-team league to twelve.
