The Gambia Professional Photographer Association (GPPA) in collaboration with the management of ‘Rise and Shine’ will on Monday 28thApril 2008 open a new photography laboratory at Batrise Street, in Serekunda.

The official inauguration of the photo Lab will be graced by the Gambia’s youngest SOS in the cabinet Ms Fatim Badjie, the Secretary of State for Communication, and Information Technology.

The photo lab is owned by our colleague, Mr Lazarus A. Bangura, a Sierra Leonean national based in The Gambia and who has been involved in the photography profession for the past several years. He is now the successful owner of Rise and Shine photo Lab.

For the first time in the history of Gambian photography, the association is proud to welcome their colleague in the photography industry.

The photo lab will open its services to the professional photographers as well as the general public.

Photography is a noble profession attached to the media to create awareness in the field of journalism.

This photo lab will also create employment in the photography industry to contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation.
