He was last week arraigned for allegedly refusing to pay tax due on his two properties situated in Banjulinding, and on a total of 60 heads of cattle, for many years.
Mr. Janneh has categorically denied the charges.
However the development, in the view of many, will serve as a possible deterrent for would-be offenders and, in the event he is found guilty, a bitter lesson that would most probably drive home the point that tax evasion is a serious crime.
The case continues.
