Gambian striker Demba Savage has signed a one-year loan deal with Finnish first division side FC Honka from second division KPV Kokkola, Gambia Sports online has revealed.
The 19-year old crafted forward joined from Gambian first division side the Gambia Ports Authority in 2006 to the Finnish second tier club.
In his first season he mostly played with KPV's reserve team, but in 2007, he took his place in the first team.
Savage who has only one cap to his name for the Gambia has joined compatriots Cherno Samba and Dawda Bah of FC Haka and HJK respectively in the first division.
FC Honka is a Finnish football club, based in Tapiola, Espoo.
It was promoted into the Finnish premier division (Veikkausliiga), for the first time in its history, at the end of the 2005 season.
The club plays its home matches at Tapiolan Urheilupuisto.
Originally founded in 1953 as Tapion Honka it changed its name to FC Honka in 1975.
FC Honka is largely renowned in Finland for its extensive youth scheme with over 1000 youth players playing in various age groups.
Fc Honka are currently playing in the UEFA Cup first round where they will travel to Spain on the 16th September in their first leg with Racing Club de Santerder with the return leg in Finland in a fortnight time.
