The ongoing drug trafficking case involving a mechanic residing in Bakoteh, Lamin Marena, who is charged with possession of 31kg 500g of cannabis reached its climax on Tuesday before the Banjul Magistrates court.
The presiding magistrate, Principal Magistrate Edressa Mbai has scheduled Thursday February 19, 2009, as the day of judgment. Lamin Marena had earlier on pleaded not guilty. Modou Jobe, the National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDEA) prosecutor had called a number of witnesses to back up his case.
The accused person did not bring forward any witness or witnesses during the trial.
