The British High Commission in The Gambia, yesterday donated an amount of D98, 000 to the Paper Recycling Skills Project (PRSP) craft village in Fajikunda.

The donation, made by His Excellency Phil Sinkinson, British High Commissioner to The Gambia, under the Bilateral Programme Budget, is meant to support the water supply project of the PRSP. High Commissioner Phil Sinkinson expressed delight to be associated with the PRSP and promised to continue supporting the project. For his part, George Riegg, general manager of the PRSP craft village, expressed delight at receiving the donation.

He said this important gesture will help to improve their work. "By providing a reliable supply of water, the British High Commission’s contribution will allow PRSP to start manufacturing compressed paper/saw dust briquettes to be used us an alternative fuel to wood for institutional users such as bakeries, schools and hospitals," he indicated.
