Magistrate Fred Foster of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court recently presided over a criminal case of attempted rape brought against one Lamin Darboe.

Testifying as the first prosecution witness, the complainant, (name withheld) told the court that sometime in October 2008, she went to the bush with her little brother, Joseph Mendy. She said while in the bush they saw the accused person coming behind them and hiding himself.

She further informed the court that the accused emerged from his hiding place and followed them again.

According to PW1, she started to run and the accused knocked her and as result she fell down. She added that the accused forcefully removed her pants and had canal knowledge of her. The recovered pants were later tendered in court as exhibit.

The case was adjourned to 3rd September 2009.
