The criminal case involving Abdoulie Touray who is charged with stealing gold and silver chains proceeded on 26th August 2009 before Magistrate Babou Jobe of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court with the testimony of a prosecution witness, one Fatou Jah.
Adducing evidence before the court, Fatou Jah told the court that she is a resident of London Corner and works in a Saloon. She said she could recognize the accused person and that she could also recall on the 3rd of June 2009. She adduced that on the day in question she went to cook for her aunt during which she was informed by her aunt that her two gold chains and silver have gone missing.
According to her, she asked the maid who told her that on a certain day, while she was packing some things into the cupboard she found the accused in the bedroom. She revealed that when the accused was asked about the missing articles, he denied any knowledge of them.
It could be recalled that the accused Abdoulie Touray on 3rd June 2009, at Latrikunda German in the Kanifing Municipality allegedly stole from the house of one Isatou Janneh, two gold chains and one silver chain valued at ‘D90, 000.
The case adjourned to 9th September 2009.
