Gambia Loose First Game in Safara Competition

The Gambia, being represented by Basse in Safra, a sub-regional tournament currently in session in Mauritania, lost its first game yesterday against Senegal in the basketball opener.

 In the first half, the Gambian team  were totally lost in the game as Tamba registered 12 points.

After a series of substitutions, The Gambia levelled the scores  but the deadlock was short lived when their opponents doubled the scores to 38 leaving a vulnerable side succumbing to defeat. In all The Gambia’s representatives only picked up 12 points.

The Tamba Kunda Basketball team, head Coach Mousa Fall, said in an interview that they are the defending champions of  Basketball in the tournament and will make sure that they retain the trophy this year.
