GAMTEL Gives to KMC Youth Fan Club

The Gambia Telecommunications Company (GAMTEL) on Tuesday 17th February 2009 gave 250 T-shirts to the KMC Youth Fans Club at a ceremony held at the company’s headquarters in Banjul.

In receiving the donated T-shirts, Mr. Pierre Minteh, the president of the club, thanked Gamtel for what he called their timely response to their request. He revealed that they intended to use the T-shirts during celebration of the country’s 44th Independence Anniversary as well the celebration of fan club’s nine-year anniversary, which is slated for the 27th of February this year.

Mr. Amadou Touray, the Public Relations Manager of Gamtel, presented the T-shirts to the fan club. 

Mr. Touray said that the gesture is part of Gamtel’s corporate social responsibilities, a means of empowering the youths and also a big contribution towards the celebration of the 44th Independence Anniversary.

“Gamtel, being owned by the state, feels duty bound to answer a call of this nature,” he added.

Mr. Touray seized the opportunity to wish every Gambian a merry 44th Independence celebration.
