The Telecommunication boys, Gamtel in what look like a promising start in the 2008/9 Gambia Football Association league outclassed the city boys, Real De Banjul through a late goal scored by Assan Ceesay.
Saturday’s match played at the Manjai Football Field was tightly contested by both teams and has also witnessed series of chances missed on goal attempts.
Gamtel produced a very compact team and were able to dominate the lion share of possessions in the mid-field and shots on goal.
Their efforts materialised in the 89th minute when Nabi Darboe passed a long ranged cross in the 18 yards to Assan Ceesay whose shot went into Real’s net.
Also on the same day, the Red Devils of Hawks squeezed a 1-0 win on this year’s arrivals Tallinding United in Brikama. Mohamed Sanyang in the 20th minute of the first half turned the tables in favoured of Hawks.
