Following the resumption of first divisional football last weekend, Seaview FC made an early stirring in the opening game against the khaki boys Armed Forces on Friday 20th at the Independence Stadium.
Seaview who survived relegation last season, have strengthen the club with notable players to uphold the team finish the league within the top four, claimed coach Sarr.
The Armed Forces were able to sustain their opponent in the first half that ended goal less. In the first 45th minutes both teams created chances to score but were weak in finishing.
At the resumption of play, Seaview mounted a strong challenge on the khaki boys in the first 20 minutes of the second half with the conviction of breaking the dead lock. In the 53rd minutes, the former Wallidan striker Pa Modou Ngum, now playing with Seaview, tapped a squared ball into the net of Modou Jobe of the Armed Forces, the which prove d to be the winner.
Few minutes later as Seaview continue their search to consolidate and seal the three points, in the 56th minutes Seaview mid-fielder Mamou Saine was brought down in the eighteen yard box of the opponent, that resulted to a penalty. Seaview’s John Gomez penalty shoot was boldly pounce away by Armed Forces goalkeeper.
Armed Forces rebounded well to level the score, when Sunny Iyeleh unauthorised free header ran out of the sideline. At the 79th minutes Armed Forces were reduced to ten men, following the dismissal of their striker.
In a similar development, Samger F.C played a 0-0 encounter with Bakau United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
