The defending champions and the current FA Cup holders Wallidan F.C and Samger will play in the Super Cup which will serve as the curtain raiser for the opening of this season’s first division football season.

The match, which will be play at the Brikama Mini Stadium, will see last seasons surprise package Samger, who lost to Wallidan in both the league and the FA Cup, lock horns with their fierce rivals Wallidan F.C who are committed to maintain their dominance yet again in the annals of Gambian Football.

Speaking to Pointsports, the president of the GFA, Seedy Kinteh, adduced that GFA is doing everything to develop football in The Gambia as it reflected in last seasons league which was keenly contested resulting in the league being decided in the final game of the championship. The GFA president called on the teams to exercise discipline during the course of the league.

While continuing, Mr. Kinteh urged the general public to come out and watch the final in large numbers as that will give their players extra zeal to perform. The league is expected to commence next weekend.
