Governor Sanneh calls for reinforcement of stability

Lamin Sanneh, governor of the Western Region has called on Gambians and foreigners in the country to maintain and reinforce the unity and stability that the country enjoyed during the course of 2008.

He also urged them to forget the past and focus their attention on ensuring the robust and sustainable development of the country for 2009. Governor Sanneh made these statements yesterday, as part of his 2009 resolutions during an interview with the Daily Observer at his office in Brikama.

According to him, 2009 should be a year of anticipated development for Gambians. "I envisage that people will continue to have good vision and cooperation for development," he said. Governor Sanneh added that for Gambians to ensure the attainment of their set target goals for 2009, they must have a clear vision.

Speaking further, governor Sanneh urged Gambians to make a behavioural change towards positive attainment of Vision 2020. Governor Sanneh then remind Gambians that they must have love and respect for each other.

He concluded by wishing all Gambians and non-Gambians a happy new year.
