Thursday, March 12, 2009
The governor of the Central River Region, Alhagie Ganyie Touray, has commended Riders For Health and the Department of State for Health and Social Welfare for providing ambulances to all the health facilities in his region.

He was speaking recently when the Janjangbureh health center staff presented their new ambulance to him. He said a good transport service system is an important factor in the socio-economic development of any nation.  He noted that the ambulance will ease the evacuation of patients, mostly from a primary health care centre to a major health centre.

Governor Touray opined that transport will also help the health workers carry out their maternal and child health program of immunisation and outreach services.  He pointed out that the enhancement of the overall delivery of health services is among the top priorities of President Jammeh.  He called on the beneficiaries to take great care of the ambulance.

Speaking on behalf of the staff, Banna Jobarteh, assured the governor that the ambulance will be properly taken care of.
