ITS IT and Business Management School last Tuesday handed a cash amount of D15,000 to Dr Mariatou Jallow, the secretary of state for Health and Social Welfare for the medical operation of 2-year old Muhammed Ndenna.
Presenting the money, Pastor Forbes of ITS cited the need to help such a child. He said as an institution, they have a role to play in the health sector and with such joint efforts, something can be achieved. He described ITS as not only here to educate people but also to give back something to society.
For her part, Dr Helen Brotherton, Voluntary Service Organisation volunteer at the RVTH, thanked ITS for the kind gesture, noting that the aid came at the right time as the child has been waiting for a long time in order to undergo the medical operation. SoS Dr Mariatou Jallow thanked the donors for their humanitarian gesture. She said everyone has a responsibility to contribute to the welfare of children. She thanked the Gambian leader for providing the enabling environment for the institution to operate in the country.
Amadou Tijan Barry, the finance officer at ITS, cited their institution’s readiness to complement the government’s efforts.
