Helsingo Little School in Denmark, last Tuesday, donated learning and sporting materials to Kuntaur Upper and Lower Basic Schools in Niani District, Central River Region  (CRR) North, at a presentation ceremony held on the school grounds.

The Danish philanthropists also sponsored 11 students in the upper basic school. In his remarks, the founder of the link, Kanimang Camara, spoke at length on the importance of acquiring skills training, noting that if one acquires skills, he or she can be self-employed.  He called on the students to be serious with their academic work and make the best use of the scholarships awarded to them by the Danish philanthropists.

Pierre Nygaard and Jens Hoeg, both teachers from Denmark, said the donation is an annual event and urged the beneficiaries to make the  best use of the items. They commended the teachers, students and the community of Kuntaur Fula Kunda for their hospitality.

The principal of Kuntaur Upper Basic School, Abubakar Fatty, thanked the Danish friends for the benevolent gesture.  He said the donated items will go a long way in reducing constraints and assured them that the items would be put  to good use. Fatty also commended Gambia Venner for donating five sewing machines and garden tools to his school.

Speaking on behalf of the Alkalo, Ebrima Jawo, hailed the efforts of the donors, adding that the donation will not only benefit the school, but also the community of Fulla Kunda as well. He revealed that the Danish philanthropists donated some second hand clothings and other materials to the community. The headboy of Kuntaur Upper Basic School delivered the vote of thanks
