Monday, March 9, 2009

Momodou Bojang, a Gambian national, was last Friday arraigned for allegedly protesting against America by displaying a banner in front of the American Embassy along Kairaba Avenue.
The accused was protesting against America for not doing enough about the plight of the Palestinian people. He said the Palestinians are human beings and should be respected.

According to the charge sheet, on or about the 15th of January 2009, the accused was found in possession of a banner on which was written: “America!!! For How Long Must These Lies Go On? Did I Mention Arrogance?”

Mr. Bojang was said to have done this without any authority.

Meanwhile he had pleaded guilty to the charge and the case adjourned for judgement.
