Man Remanded For Alleged Multiple Charges

One Muhammed Sanneh of Brikama Town on Tuesday 1st September 2009, appeared before Magistrate Fred Forster at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on three counts of common assault, wilful damage to property and assaulting police officers.

Count one read that, on 28th August 2009, at Brikama Town, the accused Muhammed Sanneh assaulted one Isatou Saidy by beating her all over her body.

On count two, the particulars of the offence indicated that on the same day, the accused wilfully and unlawfully broke a door glass of a motor vehicle, with a registration number BJL 5473F, valued D500.

While count three, stated that on the same day, the accused unlawfully assaulted police officers: Constable First Class 3421 and First Class 3285 Kinteh, by giving them blows while in the due execution of their duties.

When the charge was read to him and interpreted in the language he claimed to understand, he pleaded not guilty.

The accused was remanded in custody before the case was adjourned to 7th September 2009.
