The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has on Friday, February 27, launched the accreditation process for the 8th African U-17 Championship, which will be held in Algeria from March 19 to April 2, 2009.
The whole accreditation process, according to the continental football’s governing body will be conducted online via www.cafonline.com, where electronic forms will be available online via the following link http://www.cafonline.com/accreditation.php, and to be completed by applicants before March 8, 2009.
A statement posted on CAF’s official website said all applications are subject to confirmation, after which successful applicants will receive a confirmation letter. The statement added that the Press, photographers, photo agencies, International freelance reporters, Internet editors, Radio and Television are to apply directly through CAF.
In conclusion, the statement revealed that priority will be given to media organizations or individuals from the countries whose teams have qualified for the biennial event and that international applicants would be responsible for their own visas.
The Gambia have been paired in the same group as hosts Algeria, Cameroon and Guinea in the two-week tournament that would serve as qualifiers for the FIFA Under 20 World Cup finals to be stage in Nigeria later in the same year.
