NAPSA chairperson calls for tumultuous welcome for Burundian president

Modou Alieu Jallow, Chairperson of the National Patriotic Students’ Association (NAPSA) has called on students in the country to turn out in their large numbers and welcome the Burundian president, His Excellency, Pierre Nguruziza, on Friday, February 20th, 2009.

Jallow who walked into the Daily Observer offices yesterday, said NAPSA as a student body, will mobilise students from the Lower Basic to the Senior Secondary Schools, to join His Excellency the President, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, and his entire government, in welcoming the Burudian president.

According to the NAPSA Chairperson, the Burundian president is not only a guest for President Jammeh, but  guest for the whole nation. He called on the students to maintain the high spirit of patriotism, hard work, discipline and loyalty, for which they are well known for. Jallow used the opportunity to urge all students to participate in the Independence celebrations slated for today, February 18.

He thanked the department of state for Basic and Secondary Education for their support to NAPSA and wished President Jammeh and his entire government a happy Independence celebration.
