The New Apostolic Church based in Germany through its church in The Gambia last weekend, held a special divine service for the departed souls.
The occasion which attracted over 100 worshippers, was held in Bundung, opposite the Bundung Magistrates court. Speaking shortly after the church service, Jens Lindemann, the vice president of the church, disclosed that his church has over 80 congregations adding that over 4500 are in The Gambia. He dilated on his mission to the country noting that it involves church administration, financing as well as providing the necessary skills to its worshippers.
Eduward Carney, the new rector and evangelist of the church revealed that the service is to pray for the departed souls of their beloved souls that departed from this world. He said this will help them to receive the holy sacrament. He then called on friends and relatives to join the church on March 1st, 2009 for more prayers. He thanked his fellow worshippers for attending the service.
