In an interview with Pointsports yesterday, the coordinator of the event, Coach Kebba Njie, said the ultimate objective of the annual tournament is to promote female football in schools and also to compliment the efforts of The Gambia Football Association (GFA) in the area of female football.
He stated that this year’s event is exclusively sponsored by Nitelife International.
He pointed
out that for this year eight schools are participating namely Gambia Senior
Secondary Schools, Muslim Senior Secondary, Crab Island, Saint Joseph Senior
Secondary School,
He said the semi–finals will be played on Wednesday while the final will be played this Friday.
He stated that at the end of the competition the winner will receive a trophy and a cash prize of D5,000, while the runners up will receive D3,000, the leading goal scorer will win a cash prize of D1,000 and a trophy and the most disciplined team will win a trophy.
