The National Literacy and Debating Society (NLDS) recently
held a two-day workshop for students, teachers, communities and water supply
agents. The theme of the workshop was to train the participants on best water
handling. The workshop, which was funded by the co-partner in
Speaking during the closing ceremony, the president of the association, Mr. Yerro Mballow, emphasised the importance of access to self drinking water which he identified as an important component of accelerating growth. Speaking earlier, Mrs. Mariama Badjie also highlighted the importance of safe drinking water and sanitation. Madam Badjie said the NLDS programme was relevant, noting that it had helped the association to register achievements that are relevant to the community. Other speakers included Miss Fatoumata Jallow.
