The Gambia Ports Authority of Coach Peter Bonu Johnson played out a goalless draw with Serekunda East Football Club at the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium on Friday as week two of the Second Division concludes.

Ports were the better side than their hosts all evening and created numerous opportunities but mother luck was not on their side to score at the evening and Serekunda could have punish them but missed a couple of good opportunities on the break. Ports came at the back of a disappointing 1-1 draw with Interior FC in week one and were very keen to get off the match and could have gone in front as early as the 4th minute when Serekunda keeper Ebou Jarju’s clearance went straight to Demba Manneh who shoots over from around the area.

At the other end, Modou Lamin Sallah missed a couple of good scoring chances for Serekunda East one of which was a one on one with Ports keeper Yusupha Ceesay who pushed his shot round the post before Ports hit both the bar and the post in the first half through Alagie Fatajo alias ‘Butut’ and Hatab Badjie respectively. Two minutes after the break, Yusupha Ceesay made a brilliant save to deny Serekunda Captain Assan Njie after he acrobatically pushed his shot from 25 yards out round the post for a corner.

Ten minutes later, David Sambou shoots over for Ports before Serekunda East substitute Ousman Konteh totally missed his kick from an Assan Njie cross with the goal at his mercy in the 77th minute. Ports Authority pushed forward in search of the winner and both Foday Saidy and David Sambou missed a couple of half chances but Serekunda nearly caught them at death when Ebrima Sowe missed a clear scoring opportunity deep into stoppage time.

At the end of the week, Ports Authority have two points from as many games while Serekunda East are with 4 points after coming from 2-0 down with 15 minutes to go and beat new comers Lamin United 3-2.
