Region Two Are LBS Champions Again

As part of celebrations marking the 44th Independence celebrations, the regional Lower Basic school championship held on Wednesday at the Independence Stadium was won by region two, as the team with the highest points of 395 .

The event, which was organized under the patronage of President Jammeh, brought together the six regions with 40 participants. The athletes took part in both track and field events. The events competed include 100ms, 200ms, 400ms, 800ms 4x400ms, sack race, lemon race, high jump, long jump, relay and others.

At the end of the events, trophies and certificates were issued to the best athletes and regions. The winning athletes included Kaddijatou S . Sowe of region 6 , Lamin Dampha of region 2, Lamin Janko of region 2, Bakary Camara in region 2 and Susan Mendy of region 3.

The highest overall team points goes to boys and girls of region two. The most disciplined team award went to region six and the giant trophy went to region two with 395points, the first runner up went to region one with 330 points and second runner up went to region three with 320 points.

The occasion was graced by several secretaries of state, Diplomatic Corps and venerable leaders.
