Six accused persons arraigned for assault

Six accused persons were recently arraigned before the Kanifing Magistrates Court presided over by Magistrate Sagarr Jahateh on charges of assaulting police officers in due execution of their duties.

According to the particulars, Modou Cham, Musa Bah, Ebrima  Jarjue, Sheriff Jallow, Kebba Trawally and Muhammad Touray on December 21, 2008, at London Corner, unlawfully assaulted Omar Sisawo, Mam Penda Camara and Bakary Colley by hitting them all over their bodies while in due execution of their duties.

When the charge sheet was read to them, they all pleaded not guilty. Magistrate Jahateh then granted them bail in the sum of D10,000 each with one Gambian surety.  The case was adjourned to January 21 for continuation.  Police Prosecutor 319 Jobe stood in for the IGP.
