Standard Chartered Bank, Gambia, yesterday, announced a second award in its name in just one year, coming just after the Best FX Bank in Gambia Award, by Global Finance.
At The Banker Awards 2008, Standard Chartered Bank Gambia Ltd, won Bank of the Year award in Gambia for 2008 – a major recognition of the Bank’s efforts this year.
In a press release sent to the Daily Observer, Humphrey Mukwereza, Standard Chartered Bank Gambia CEO, said “we are delighted to win this award. This is the 3rd time in the last six years that Standard Chartered Bank Gambia Ltd has been winning this prestigious honor.”
This success, Mukwereza went on, “is further proof of the right partner role Standard Chartered Bank in Africa plays in its relationship with its key stakeholders.” He thanked their loyal customers, regulators, staff and communities for their continuous support.
Standard Chartered Bank’s strategic intent is to be the world’s best international bank, leading the way in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The Banker Awards 2008 recognises Standard Chartered Bank’s leading positions and achievements in these markets.
It is a fitting tribute to all the Bank’s employees in Gambia who continue to out-serve and out-sell the competition and build on its significant reputation on the continent.
