Suwareh made this call recently in Sare Louba and Njoren in Central River Region where he was presiding over the presentation of two kitchens built by Thomas Nationwide Transport in collaboration with the World Food Program.
He said the education sector under the dynamic leadership of Professor Yahya AJJ Jammeh is doing a lot for the people of CRR, pointing out that the government has provided everything necessary for the children and teachers to be in school.
The Region Five director said all the teachers in his region are paid what he referred to as “hard to reach allowances” which is 35% of their salaries. He said this is done to make sure teachers are motivated.
He said the education department, in partnership with the African Development Bank, is building staff quarters in most schools in the region. Suwareh called on parents teachers associations in all schools in his region to campaign for parents to send their children to school, particularly the girl child.
