Teacher Testifies In Court

One Yaya Drammeh, a teacher at Alieu Bun Ali Talid Islamic School recently testified before Magistrate Lamin George of the Bundung Magistrates’ Court in a theft case involving two accused persons, Bakary Kassama and Babucarr Jeng.

In his testimony, the second prosecution witness told the court that on 21st July 2009, he was at home when he received a telephone call from his Principal that there was a theft at the school.

According to him, upon his arrival at the school he found that the office was broken and some school materials were missing. He said the matter was reported to Bundung Police Station and a photograph was taken to that effect.

He added that an investigation was conducted by the CID officers, leading to the arrest of the accused persons.

It could be recalled that the accused persons are standing trial on charges of alleged breaking into building wit intent to commit a felony and stealing the sum of D25, 689.

Both denied the charges.

The case was adjourned to 14th September 2009.
