The 5th Kanilai International Festival

The 5th Kanilai International Cultural Festival will take place in Kanilai on Sunday 24th May to Wednesday June 10th 2009, under the distinguished Chief Patronage of His Excellency, The President Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh.
The festival is designed to revive, promote and develop our rich cultural heritage and it will showcase the diverse performances of different ethnic groups of the sub-region, characterized by mystical display, masquerades, music dance and drama. This year’s festival will attract participants from Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and other interested groups in the sub-region. The general public as well as cultural actors and performers are invited to witness and participate in this show of exceptional African talent, which is increasingly gaining popularity in our sub-region and the African continent in general.
