The Gambia’s reggae artist, Dr Olugander, is looking to stept onto the next level according to Gander’s production manager, Valentine Banjakey.
Valentine, who is a long-term friend and confidante of Dr Olugander, said “Gander is already on a different level compared to his peers but resting on his laurels is a no-no. Aint no turning back for him now. This is no longer just a hobby, its his life and art and we will do everything possible to cement his dominion in the country’s reggae industry and then spread out internationally”.
Growing bigger and stronger, the Gander Production music label and the Gander Foundation are also venturing into giving back to the community. Valentine explains, “After coming back from his European tour, Doctor suggested the idea of what he calls “giving back”.
He means giving support of every kind to people who need it most. It could be either financial or moral support because he is not a stranger to the fact that even with immense talents, you still need the door to be open. But then again, one must never stop knocking.”
The Gander Production manager continued “we are at the earliest of stages in regards to the giving back project, but we shall get there with untainted determination and focus”. Dr Olugander, who also recently released the Africel-sponsored ‘Stronger Dan Before” album after his mega European tour, is currently working on several materials.
